Good Riddance 2025
Not to start this post on a negative note, but man was 2025 a rough year. This was probably the roughest years to date when it comes to goals, bucket list items, and writing. I know I’m not the only one who has felt this as many others have exclaimed the same troubles I was having.
But the one thing I like about these year end wrap ups is even though things might not have been as successful, I still accomplished some great things!! So let’s check them out.
What did I want to accomplish in 2025?
This year, I really wanted to focus on a few items instead of a large list like I used too(can you believe I used to get 17-22 things done a year-insane!).
Published Another Low Content- Earlier this year I was feeling a little low when it came to my writing. I hadn't gotten as far as I hoped so to make myself feel better and to accomplish a project fully I decided to create another low content book. This time called, 100 First Sentences: Creative Writing Prompts That Do The Hard Part For You.

Blogging- The blog has been the one hobby I've kept up with for over 5 years now. I can't believe it! Originally I wanted to post weekly, but I just didn't have enough time in the week(this was when I was trying to do too many things at once) and ultimately went to biweekly. Since then, I haven't missed a post. In fact, I usually have the blog scheduled a full year out to make sure I don't miss a day. I will continue with this moving forward.
Website Updates- With the blog being around for 5 years, I decided some things needed updating. This includes a search bar, updated photos, page layouts, and little things on the back end. The little refresh was needed for me to stay creative and excited about the blog.
Pinterest Posts- To get more engagement on posts I went through and made an entire list of ones I needed to make Pinterest Pins for. Back in March I went ahead and created over 150 pins and uploaded to Pinterest. Since then I have seen more engagement with the website which is exactly what I wanted.
Post Updates-With the Pinterest Pins updated I also went ahead and created a list of items I wanted each post to have. This could be an edit check, update photos, create new links, save posts onto usb drive, etc. This has taken much longer to do as you can imagine but I'm slowly making it through the list. Each week if I get 1-3 posts done. The reason for this is to make sure old posts that were published 5 years ago are up to date with the new site for when new readers come to the blog.
Free Product-For the last several years, I have been wanting to attach a free product for those who sign up to the newsletter. While doing all the updated I did in fact create a fun little packet for people to enjoy. I can finally take that off the list!
Writing Sessions- Now these aren't the writing sessions my friend and I used to do, but I did sit down and write when the amount felt like it. Was this the novel I have been working on? No, but I do have to say when a scene or concept would come into my head I would quickly sit down to write and knock out anywhere from 20-30 pages. It was nice to feel like I could actually get something written especially since I haven't been feeling like working on my novel as of late.
Besides items relating to writing, here are some other things I accomplished this year!
Jonas Brothers- Since the early start of the Jonas Brothers I have wanted to see them in concert. Well I got the opportunity to do this back in October where I flew down to Denver and met up with my friend for their 20th Anniversary Hometown Tour. I couldn't believe how fantastic their voices were.
Books- This year, I read over 46 books. Not has many as the 56 from the year before but still a good amount considering how busy I have been. My top pick for the year go to The Bee Sting. Highly recommend everyone read this.
Secret Project- I've been working on a secrete project since the beginning of 2024 and hopefully it will be relieved in 2026.But just know, I've been working hard on it!
What about 2026?
Now that we've looked back on this year, we also get to look ahead to 2026. Let's start with writing goals!
The Blog Posts- I will be continuing to post every other week and continue to update any old posts.
A Novel- After my secret project is done, I want to actually create a space that allows for me to sit and write. This way I can continue to work on the novel I think will go on to be published
Other- As always if opportunities come up with writing I would love to work on the following list.
Finish a Series
Stand Alone Children's Book
How To eBook
Short Story Magazine or Website
My theme for this last year was 2025 and Ready to Thrive. I don't feel like my energy matched this theme this year, but I think my 2026 Bingo Card theme will make a change. Instead of more serious goals, I have a ton of fun things planned to help when I'm not as motivated to work on my more serious goals. For my vision board I created an actual Bingo Card with fun drawings and fonts.
Final Thoughts
Honestly, I can't wait for 2025 to be over and for 2026 to start! I have a lot of fun things planned out that I can't wait to share with everyone. Tell me in the comments below what you have planned for 2026-I would love to hear.
See you next year with new and exciting things!
