Have you ever wanted to create your own low content book for extra side money? If you're looking for a quick way to do so, then I recommend creating your own coloring book others will love.

Here are some How To's to get started on your own coloring book.

Inspiration

What are your favorite types of coloring books? The first step is looking at other coloring books to get inspiration for the page layout as well as types of pages you can create. This can be standard black and white illustrations, dot to dot, box images, or anything you can imagine.

Theme

Next will be picking a theme for your coloring book. It’s best to pick a specific niche that isn’t over saturated. Think outside of the box so you can sell more copies. The best way to do this is to go on Amazon and see which categories are lacking in the coloring book department.

Images

The hardest part is getting your images. The easiest and least expensive way is finding an AI generator to help create your images. There are several AI’s out there now but it will be up to you for which one you like to work with best. Usually there is a monthly fee to sign up for the program, but you shouldn’t need longer than a month.

You can also find an illustrator to draw your images if you don’t feel comfortable using AI. But this can be expensive depending on how many pages you want your final book to contain.

Canva

Now it’s time to put your images/coloring book together. You can do this on Canva for free. Just make sure you have the correct page size with the correct bleed. Check out my post here on more details!

*On Amazon you need to have a 24 page minimum, but it doesn’t mean you need 24 images. A coloring book can have the image in one side and a blank page in the other for it to count which means you only need 12 illustrations in total. *

Publish

Lastly, and the most fun step is publishing your coloring book. You can do this on Amazon for free and watch as you start to sell copies. Make sure to price wisely based on other coloring books.
